In the last few days I have remembered a lot of conversations I've had but can't remember where I've had them. I must have a compartmentalised life. Anyway, this was not a conversation but a news/discussion item of some sort, that I read, which talked about the production of greenhouse gas in the printing of a report, compared to the reading of the same report on line, with the conclusion that the printed was more envirofriendly than the online, though the more I think about it the more I think all the extras in the printed (like, driving to the library) were not taken into consideration.

Anyway, when I fill out nonsense like the below, I am trouble that I might be wasting the resources of the planet, and interrupting my readers' attempts to limit the urban growth boundary, listen to the La de dahs, etc. On the other hand, there may be some readers who were about to kill or maim, and who were otherwise distracted by this long list of things I have and haven't. I suppose you have to take those people into consideration too.

My advice really is that these things are only enjoyable when you are filling them in yourself. I recommend you cut and paste it and do it. As you do, consider how these things are surely (surely!) manufactured as some kind of viral market research, with the weird non sequitur questions sprinkled in amongst the consumption questions. If they're not market research, they're paedophile research... I mean, research of value to paedophiles. I suppose the Market and paedophiles have a fair bit in common. What do you think.

saturday night doo doo doo doo doo doodoo

Saturday night, as Elton John or the Rolling Stones or someone once said, is alright for babysittin', and that's what I'm presently up to, babysittin' Laurie, who is asleep, so there should be another name for it, because really (so far touch wood) it's just creeping around an empty house and, er, using the internet. Maybe making a cup of tea, you know. It's not like when I babysat my niece Olivia a few years ago, an experience I would choose never to repeat (though she's probably less scared of me now so maybe I would). The tears! Hers. Although apparently the next day she told her mother that she'd had a good time.

Later I will go to a party for Dion and Luke's birthdays, and not stay long, I'm guessing. For last night there was considerable partying afoot in honour of Olivia's 30th, and I drank brandy, which appears to have become de facto my new tipple, except I drink so rarely these days I probably am not allowed to claim a tipple. In fact the hotelier associations of Australia surely spit on my tipple.

Nothing much else happening around. Getting close to the end of the semester, Mia and I very busy, her band has scored a support on the tour of a seriously cool international act so that's grouse, and I'm planning various interstate trips, and tomorrow I'm even going to Kew, so that's a thrill. Might see you there.

exile

Last night we went to Exile on Smith Street to see Go Genre Everything and Mum Smokes, also there was a band playing called either Flying Scribble or Flying Scrabble (they were spoken about, and written about on the chalkboard, with both names). FS were pretty amazing actually, I would definitely go and see them again, love that drummer-multi keyboard combination. Go Genre Everything are pretty much everything I want in a rock band these days, because I love that drummer-guitarist combination, also they have funny ideas. Mum Smokes are Important and I don't mean that sarcastically at all. They just merely are. Karl didn't sing enough songs. I think he only sang one. And he didn't sing in his Kes voice which was interesting.

We got to watch from the up the stairs part, very Deadwood, I expected the whores to come out any moment, but seriously, they didn't.

Very gratified to discover that the use of 'sexx' in my label for the last post has boosted my traffic, though not as much as I thought it might.
