books just get in the way

This is the ground floor of the Bailleu library, the main library at my workplace. Until a few weeks ago (maybe even last week) this was full of books, largely history books. The periodicals were also kept here. All gone. Apparently to the 2nd floor except for the ones that didn't fit, which must have been most of them, which are now in offsite storage.

Look, I try and try and try to resist thinking that everything's enshittified but for crying out loud...
