Robert Winsor McCay Jr
Got a bit bound up in the Winsor McCay wikipedia entry. Curious family dynamics for WM. Apparently his immediate family did not know he had a brother or sister, and indeed his brother was in an asylum for half the 20th century (long after WM died). Yet he seemingly put a lot of work into his son's career. Robert (1896-1962) served in WWI and was shell-shocked and perhaps a bit of a no hoper, no judgment but you know what I mean. Wikipedia thinks that a lot of the work credited to Robert was actually WM's, and when you look at the faces in particular on this regular strip based on Dreams of the Rarebit Fiend I think that might be so. Not a terribly distinguished career (aside from the noble military service) but a varied one. Harrisburg Evening News 7 April 1924
